The Villa is designed to enjoy the cooling sea breeze with bespoke louvered window and door openings negating the need for glass and air conditioning. Large format floor and wall tile finishes clad the property with a monotone Zen palette allowing our interior concept to introduce contrasting soft white fabrics mixed with natural timber finishes and textures.
The East Coast Villa
St. Joseph, Barbados
This modern new-build villa is positioned on the dramatic East Coast of Barbados facing the prevailing Atlantic Ocean. Our team were briefed to design an interior which embodied a discrete luxury ethos but with finishes resilient to these potentially harsh coastal conditions where materials can corrode quickly from the salt air.
The open plan living room and owner’s kitchen enjoy views over the pool towards the beach, Purple gemstone slabs adorn the feature wall injecting colour adding a sense of natural luxury within the interior. Loose covered furniture using outdoor fabrics add to the relaxed feel of the property with timer coffee tables injecting warmth.
The master bedroom sits back against a white agate stone wall focusing the bed’s position within the room’s volume.
The master ensuite focusses on a central shower, creating a wet room with simple luxury finishes and statement walls.
Bathrooms are set alive and are injected with colour through precious agate stone finishes sitting against the villa’s neutral concrete palette. Our team used this principle throughout the property to inject a timeless feel of luxury that would withstand the demands of the location.
The unique commissioned Buddha statue welcomes guests to the property, crossing timbered sleepers before stepping onto the dark volcanic toned stone floor. The feature stairs and entrance hall wall set the tone to our discrete luxury ethos embodied into the heart of this property.
