Chalet ‘Le Blanchot’

Luxury Ski Chalet, Courchevel 1850

Wilkinson Beven were appointed as the lead interior designers for this a luxury ski chalet in the prestigious Alpine resort of Courchevel 1850. Detailing full interior finishes, many bespoke items and the selection and supply of all furniture and soft furnishings. With an internal area of 536 square metres, the chalet has six bedrooms, open plan living and dining spaces along with a wealth of entertainment facilities including an invitingly comfortable cinema, a gym and a basement spa with a large swimming pool.

Sumptuous fabric selections create a warm interior, which welcomes guests into the richly furnished open plan living space. A feature log fire divides the principal room, providing a central focus for dining, entertaining or relaxing after a day’s skiing.

An icicle-draped chandelier suggests the mountain atmosphere, within the warmth of the dining area, creating an intimacy and dramatic visual impact over a table which comfortably seats up to twelve guests.

Bespoke joinery infilled with luxury fabrics denoted the master bedroom suite elevations grounding the bed within the room, the wardrobes echoing this style and design ethos within the room.

Throughout the chalet care and attention to detail has been taken in order to create unique bedrooms, each having a highly individual style and mood. A bespoke joinery headboard has upholstered panel sections, giving the room a luxurious feel, worthy of its ‘master’ suite status. The headboard motif design is repeated in wardrobe doors. The dark timber floors of the bedrooms continue into the en-suite bathrooms, contrasting with lighter, natural materials and rich stone finishes.

Our inspiration for this chalet home cinema room was provided by the glamorous and classic ‘Odeon’ theatre style; luxurious bespoke furnishings set the tone for comfortable evenings where chalet guests can enjoy cutting-edge home entertainment! The latest audio visual technology provides film, music and streamed TV.

The spa materials encapsulate the mountain environment, using dark Basalt stone, which has a comfortable, underfoot leathered texture. Clads walls, in a dark local stone, introduce mountain-like textures and tones, whilst rich purple mosaic finishes and contemporary plaster plain walls and ceiling sections create a sleek interior space.
